Our Commitment

All Niqian apps are designed with privacy as a fundamental principle. We believe your data belongs to you and should stay on your device.

Data Collection

We do not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. All information you enter in our apps stays exclusively on your device. We have no servers, no databases, and no analytics frameworks.

Third-Party Services

Some apps may interact with third-party services that you explicitly configure:

• PenPilot: If you provide an OpenAI API key, text you submit is sent directly from your device to OpenAI's servers. We do not intermediate, store, or see this data. Your API key is stored securely in the device Keychain.
• Dogear (Lectio Inspiratio): Book search uses the free Google Books API (no API key required). Search queries are sent directly from your device to Google.

Data Storage

All app data is stored locally using Apple's standard storage mechanisms (UserDefaults, Keychain, or local files). For apps with iCloud sync, data is synced through your personal iCloud account using Apple's private CloudKit containers — we never have access to this data.

Required Permissions

Some apps request the following permissions for core functionality only:

• Camera: Used for QR code scanning (QRMaker), document scanning (PDFScanPro), book cover capture (Dogear), or scanning receipts, labels and item photos (OmniLife). Never used for recording.
• Photo Library: Used when you explicitly choose to save a generated QR code, PDF, or quote card to your photos, or to add photos of items, plants and travel documents (OmniLife).
• Notifications: Used only when you enable reminders for medications, pantry expiry, plant care, travel documents, or subscriptions (OmniLife). Notification data never leaves your device.

Children's Privacy

Our apps are not directed to children under 13 and do not knowingly collect any personal information.

Changes

If we ever change our privacy practices (which would require adding a server or analytics — something we don't plan to do), we will update this policy and notify you through app updates.
